Two Killed By Hit-Run Driver In Kia Stolen In Upper Marlboro: Police (Updated)

Two people were killed in an early morning hit-and-run crash in Prince George's County, police say.

The crash was reported in the area of Landover Road and 63rd Place in Cheverly.

Shortly before 2:40 a.m. on Wednesday morning, officers were called to the area of Landover Road and Old Landover Road in Cheverly to investigate a reported crash involving two vehicles.

According to police, a driver in a Kia stolen out of Upper Marlboro crashed into a Toyota Camry that was attempting to make a lefthand turn onto Landover Road.

The Camry caught fire and the driver of the Kia ran from the crash scene. Both the driver and a passenger in the Toyota were pronounced dead at the scene.

Roads in the area were closed for several hours as the Prince George's County Police Department investigated and cleared the scene.
